U4GM - 7 Places to Sell Junk for Caps in Fallout 76

If you're like me, you’ve probably spent countless hours scavenging, scrapping, and hoarding in Fallout 76. From old fans and typewriters to scorched beast bones, junk piles up quickly — but did you know that junk can be a surprisingly reliable way to earn quick Fallout 76 caps?

Over my time playing Fallout 76, I’ve found several reliable spots to offload junk and make decent caps consistently. Whether you’re a seasoned wastelander or just starting out, here are seven of the best places to sell junk for caps, while also managing your stash space and maximizing profit.

1. Whitespring Resort

Whitespring Resort is hands down my favorite spot for selling. There are multiple vendors inside, each with their own cap stash. That means you can spread your sales across several sellers instead of hitting your limit in one go. On a good day, I’ve earned over 1,000 caps just from unloading bulked junk here. The proximity of the vendors also makes it efficient for selling multiple types of Fallout 76 items like weapons, armor, and mods.

2. Watoga Shopping Plaza

Watoga is a goldmine if you're willing to fight your way there. The plaza contains multiple vendor bots with different inventories and cap limits. Once I cleared the area, I made a habit of fast traveling here to sell off my bulk aluminum, adhesive, and gears. If you're crafting a lot, selling the excess is a great way to earn quick Fallout 76 caps.

3. Charleston Station

Located near Charleston Capitol Building, this vendor is easy to access and often overlooked. I’ve sold a lot of my scavenged junk here while running nearby events. The stash box is close to the vendor, which is great for speed. It’s also a low-risk area for newer players wanting to dip their toes into the cap economy.

4. Grafton Station

Grafton Station’s robot vendor is one of the more peaceful places to sell your junk. If you’re running public events in the area like "Grafton Day" or just passing through, it's a convenient stop. I like to sell my lead, steel, and copper here after clearing out some nearby workshops.

5. Sutton Station

Sutton Station is ideal for beginners. I remember when I first started out, this was my main hub for selling junk. The station vendor has a modest amount of caps, but it’s usually enough to get some income early on. Plus, it's a friendly area with minimal enemy threats.

6. Foundation

If you’ve progressed in the main Wastelanders questline, Foundation becomes available as a vendor spot. The vendor here buys a wide range of Fallout 76 items, and it’s one of my favorite places to offload high-value junk like circuitry and nuclear material. Pro tip: bulk items before selling to get more caps per weight unit.

7. Crater

The Crater is the Raider equivalent to Foundation. After siding with the Raiders, you’ll gain access to their vendor. I usually rotate between Foundation and Crater during my selling runs. While the cap stash isn’t massive, selling to both in one trip can bring in solid earnings.

Final Thoughts

Selling junk in Fallout 76 isn’t just about cleaning your stash — it’s one of the best ways to earn quick Fallout 76 caps without grinding high-level enemies or farming events non-stop. From my experience, rotating between these vendor locations keeps my inventory light and my caps flowing steadily.

Remember, always bulk your junk before selling and plan your route to hit multiple vendors in one trip. Over time, you’ll become an expert at turning trash into treasure — and that’s one of the underrated joys of life in the Wasteland.
